Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is known for her acclaimed performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The film Piano won her several awards including an Oscar. Early on her acclaimed actress started acting on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. The art of acting has been a constant love of life. In the fifth grade she was cast as Helen Keller in an original play. When she was in the fifth grade due to mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. She did not let that stop her. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter was stuck in the lift of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get movie roles. An supporting role was found in Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since her time in Los Angeles, Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous series and television films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
